Card made with the Bird Punch

This is such a lovely card, and you can use any color.  The 2-step Bird Punch gives you 3 pieces: Bird, Bird wing, and Leafy branch.  You can punch them out of any color cardstock, although we used Shimmery White cardstock for the punchouts on this card.  This is a delicate, graceful card which will be a delight to any woman or girl on your card list!
 Directions:

1.      Card. Start with a half sheet of cardstock, any color, and fold into a standard size card.  We used a light blue color.  Punch along the bottom edge with the Scallop Trim Border punch (118402) which is a FREE punch (!!) available only during Sale-A-Bration bonus month!   (If you missed S-A-B, there are similar edge punches in the catalog on page 187, items 37 and 38)

2.      Edges. If desired, punch little holes along the edges or corners of your card, using the Mat Pack (105826, $9.95) and a special piercing tool, also known as Thumbtack.  I am crazy for my Mat Pack, yo.

3.      Bird.  Punch through a scrap of white cardstock with your 2-Step Bird Punch.  This will give you all 3 pieces, set them aside. Now punch through again, two times, to get two more branches and set them aside.  Affix your Wing piece to your Bird, using a Mini Glue Dot (#103683, $4.95 for 300 dots).  Punch an eye-hole for Mrs. Birdie with your thumbtack, so she can see this lovely card you’re making.

4.      Branches.  Put a Mini Glue Dot down onto your card, a little lower-left of center; this will be the “anchor” to temporarily hold your branch pieces.  Place the ends of the 3 branches onto this glue dot, until you have them the way you want them.  Then put another glue dot at the other end of each branch (the leafy part) under the outermost leaf, and tack them down to your card.

5.      Now peel off a Stampin’ Dimensional dot (104430, $3.95 for 300 dots) and stick it directly on top of your center glue dot.  Peel off the backing, and place your little birdie on top.

6.      Greeting.  We embossed the greeting with white embossing powder, onto a little scrap of light blue (embossing tool and powders are on page 188 in catalog).  The greeting we used is from the free SAB set called Whimsical Words, it fits perfectly, but if you missed it, you can use another greeting set.  Heat set the embossing powder, then punch it out with a 1 3/8” circle punch.

7.      Scallop punch.  Out of your white scrap, punch out a scallop using your Scallop Circle Punch (pg 187 in catalog).  If desired, poke little holes around the scallops with the thumbtack.  Tack the white scallop to your card with a Stampin’ Dimensional.   Then put the little greeting circle on top of that, with a glue dot.
